Labrador Park

Labrador Nature Reserve, also known as Labrador Park is one of the most exquisite places of tourist attraction located in the southern part of Singapore. Covering an area of 10 hectares along the southern coast of the island the park offers the visitor a remarkable experience on a rare combination of picturesque view of the sea together with one of the few colonial British military bases that survives today in Singapore.

In fact, The Labrador Park is the only rocky sea-cliff on the island that is accessible to the public. The old jetty lets u walk into the sea for some fifty meters or so giving a fantastic view of the horizon. The park is said to have more than 50 species of birds and has recorded more than 11 species of butterflies, while the rocky shore contains a multitude of corals and crabs and more. On the other hand it is also, filled with interesting signboards detailing the history of the guns & armor and those that worked here during the colonial period, making it a fascinating place to visit if you have any interest in the island’s history.

The benches under the shades of trees facing the calm sea are often occupied by beach lovers in the evenings. Among them are people with fishing rods, who enjoy catching fish.

Beautiful wedding couples posing for photographs catching the sunset can be seen very often too.

The view of the golden sun set, balmy sea breeze and the vast green landscapes of the park make it a paradise for a person, who loves to escape the fast-paced city life and enjoy the evening. Further, the recently added barbeque pits attract young crowds to the park every night.

Arriving at the Labrador Park is quite convenient due to the special bus-service 408 that exists between the HarbourFront Bus Interchange/MRT Station and Labrador Park (Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm). The service departs from the interchange every 30 minutes.
